Great location beside Lower Barrakka
Positive: This was our second stay in this apartment. We loved the location last time and especially the view. When we left last year, they were beginning some renovations so we had high hopes for this year (and we gave private feedback on some suggestions for improvement).
Negative: There really needs to be a shower door. There should also be more hooks near the shower for putting toiletries and towels on. The drying rack which was available last year was not in the room and should be replaced. I found it in the broken things pile in the basement.
Also, I really recommend getting a better mattress. I think it was replaced since last year (because my notes from last year were that it was very very lumpy and needed replacement), but it's so cheap, thin and soft, that it's kind of hopeless.
It's good to know for anyone sensitive to noise: this location is awesome but very noisy, especially in the early morning, due to delivery vehicles and the garage across the street. Bring earplugs.
Overall a pleasant stay
Overall a pleasant stay. The host was responsive and communicative, the flat was clean and tidy, the location was excellent with everything nearby, and checkout was smooth.
However, we did experience a few issues — the WiFi wasn't working, the TV wasn't functional, and the bathroom drainage was blocked. We raised the WiFi and TV issues with the host but unfortunately they weren't resolved during our stay. These weren't deal-breakers, but WiFi and a working TV were things we were specifically looking forward to, so it was disappointing not to have them.
Would consider staying again if these utilities are sorted — the bones of the flat are great🙂

Our stay was fine
Our stay was fine. The room was clean and tidy, with a nice view. The location was near everything and the host was nice and helpful. I wouldn’t describe it as a suite though, but it was more than satisfying.

Brilliant Airbnb
Brilliant Airbnb, we booked this on 3 hours notice after our previous Airbnb turned out to be a scam, and they were absolutely brilliant in ensuring that our holiday didn’t fall apart. Would recommend!
Im großen und ganzen waren wir zufrieden
Im großen und ganzen waren wir zufrieden! Die Lage war super. Wie bereits in anderen Bewertungen erwähnt ist die Wohnung sehr laut, ob Tag oder Nacht was aber einfach der Bauweise geschuldet ist (mit Ohrstöpseln Nachts ist aber alles super). Unter den Fenstern waren Wasserflecken und die Scheiben der Fenster zum Teil eingerissen was aber von dem schweren Sturm der letzten Woche kommt. Die Wohnung ist hell und mit einer guten Klimaanlage ausgestattet, also die Temperatur kann man sich passend machen. Leider hat der Abfluss im Schlafzimmer von der Dusche oft gestunken. Das Bett war leider auch nir Semi-Bequem. Die Kommunikation mit dem Host war zu jeder Zeit einwandfrei und es wurde super schnell geantwortet.
Alles in allem waren wir zufrieden!

I arrived at night and had an extremely distressing experience as I could not find the actual location. In messaging the host, it became clear that this as an AI robot given the responses that were generic and duplicate messages. What should have taken 2 minutes had I been able to talk to a real person, took almost an hour as I kept getting nonsense / circular messages. This created great frustration, fear and distress as I was travelling as a single person to a new city. I felt unsafe and did not get the support that anyone would expect.
When I finally managed to find the flat and get into the property, it is extremely windy and drafty and the overall feel is a generic property with only the basics provided. The bedding and towels could be improved. The wifi does not reach the bedroom in a relatively small property.
Location is convenient to the main streets of Valetta.
